Special Guest Emcee Susannah Mars

We're thrilled to welcome our special guest emcee Susannah Mars to Oregon Repertory Singers' Season 25 | 45 gala!  Oregon Music News called Mars "the golden girl of Portland’s musical theater scene." She is well-known in Portland for her appearances with Artists Repertory Theatre, Portland Opera, the Portland Gay Men’s Chorus, the Oregon Symphony, and more--including recent Oregon Repertory Singers events. We're delighted to treat guests to a four course family-style dinner catered by Rafati's Catering. Enjoy with passed Hors d'Oeuvres during the silent auction and cocktail hour, then settle in for wine, salad, entree, and desserts during the main program. Full cash bars will be open during the silent auction and dinner/performances.

Rafati's Catering presents superb meals with sustainable, seasonal ingredients. Vegetarian and gluten free options will be available upon request. 

Entertainment

Guests at 80s Night will enjoy performances of some of the spiffiest hits from the 1980s from our combined choir, featuring both the ORS adult choir and youth choir. Special guest Naomi LaViolette and her band will keep the music going during the silent auction and dinner. And keep an eye out for a special appearance by our emcee Susannah Mars!

About Naomi LaViolette
Oregon Repertory Singers’ piano accompanist since 2004, Portland-born Naomi LaViolette earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in classical piano performance from the University of Puget Sound and Portland State University, respectively. She has performed on piano with numerous ensembles, including Portland Piano International, Choral Cross-ties, Tacoma Civic Chorus, Classical Revolution PDX, Portland Jazz Festival, Gorge Music Festival, The Vancouver Symphony, and the Fleur-de-Lis piano trio. A creative songwriter, arranger, and recording artist, Naomi released her first solo record in March 2012, a holiday single Noel in December 2012 (subsequently arranged for and widely performed by choirs, including ORS), and an EP titled You’ve Got Me in October 2013. She has performed her jazz-, folk- and pop-infused numbers at venues such as Jimmy Mak’s, Alberta Rose Theater, and Doug Fir Lounge. In October 2017, Naomi released her most recent album, Written for You, featuring songs written as commissions and gifts over the last several years. Learn more at www.naomilmusic.com.
